משפחות און אפשטאמיגע

Your family name may still open a street, a house, a grave—or a story.

This gateway is for descendants of Shendishov’s Jews, townspeople, chassidim and connected families—including those whose families no longer identify with the present court.

A controlled research path

2

People and relationships

Parents, spouses, children, occupation, rabbinic or communal role and links to the town or court.

3

Places and evidence

House, parcel, institution, grave, migration route, document, photograph, film or testimony.

4

Return and contribute

Corrections and new material are reviewed, sourced and assigned the right public or protected level.

א פארשפרייטער ירושה

The town did not disappear when its people left.

Families carried Shendishov into Kraków, Vienna, the Lower East Side, Brooklyn, New Jersey, Israel, England and beyond. American landsmanshaft records, three burial sections, letters, dinner journals and family archives can reconnect those branches to the town.

The Kreinik/Kreinig network is a particularly strong lead because descendants hold a 1935 film, photographs, identifications, testimonies and records of visits. Other descendant networks remain active research paths rather than public claims until contact and permission are clear.

העלפט צוריקברענגען א נאמען

A photograph without names can still become a family record.

Submit the highest-quality original, what you know, who supplied it, and whether the family permits public display. Uncertainty is welcome when it is labeled honestly.
