Biography

Rabbi Yaakov Horowitz of Melitz was a son of the Ropshitzer Rav. Through him, the Ropshitz inheritance entered the immediate family world from which Shendishov arose.

Melitz belongs inside the direct account of Shendishov—not as an ornamental name, but as part of its Torah, family chain, and הנהגה.
