01

A threatened inheritance

The publication describes years in which ownership and the physical condition of the site placed the cemetery and ohel at risk. Earlier efforts by descendants, rabbanim, and people from Shendishov preserved what they could; recent work reopened the question at a far larger practical scale.

02

What was rebuilt

The documented work includes securing control of the adjoining property, restoring and maintaining the ohel, cleaning the cemetery, installing surveillance, improving entry, creating a functioning hachnosas orchim, and marking the mass grave. The publication also states that original boundaries, access, lighting, and the full dignity of the mass-grave area remain continuing responsibilities.

A place returned to Jewish life

The strongest meaning of the project lies in the return of people. A site that was endangered and neglected again receives mispallelim during the yahrzeit and throughout the year. Physical rescue makes prayer, memory, and responsibility possible once more.
